Spring has Sprung!

Whew! Being outside makes you tired

Yesterday was the first day in several weeks that could be described as 'springy'. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the wind was blowing. Well, can't win 'em all.

BB, Bee and I wandered around in the backyard for the first time together, looking at trees, the tiny leaf buds just barely starting to show and the clouds. BB was especially taken with the clouds racing overhead. Bee was chowing on copious amounts of grass and I had to keep chasing her away from it. That's when it hit me. There's GRASS growing in the backyard!

We played on the walking path. BB is now taking her first steps, with help of course. It seems as though she has given up on the crawling part and is going to head to the running part. Of course, her interim mode of getting around is to sit on her bum and 'scoot'. Much like how a dog would do the, ahem, 'barrel drag' whilst scratching its ass.

Bee happens to be the expert at barrel dragging. When she feels the urge, nothing - not snow banks, throw rugs, bath mats, our bed or even the hardwood floor - stands in her way. She will drag her ass across ANYTHING. If it itches, she will scratch it. I swear that dog is going to catch on fire one day from all the friction. Apparently this rubbed off (no pun intended) on BB. Watching them both scoot across the floor amazes me, and makes me shake my head at the same time. Leave it to my kids (real baby and fur-baby) to come up with the most UNIQUE way to get around....

This made me laugh.

Have you seen the Stanley Steamer commercial? Talk about butt-scooting!
